Great customer support

My experience was uneven. It was great in Canada, excellent although sometimes slow in Mexico and very patchy in Lima and Chili. In fact SIMS thought I was in Korea at first. However, and this is important, every time I had trouble (3 times in 3 months) I had an answer back within a few hours. That’s phenomenal customer service.

It was great!.. The SIM

It was great!.. The SIM Card was very useful particularly using Google maps and social media app. WhatsApp, FBK . whcoh allowed me to connect easily on the phone . The only issue was when I wanted to call to another land line or mobile phone number it didn't work

Did not work in Equador or the Galapagos

We had no phone coverage or data using the Sims Direct travel sim in Equador or the Galapagos. As this was the only South American country that we were going to, it was a waste of money. We have previously used one in Europe successfully.

Hi Belinda, Sorry to hear about your poor experience with the South America SIM! I'd be super frustrated if I were in your shoes and the SIM you bought didn't work! Unfortunately, the SIM doesn't cover Equador or Galapagos so that's why it didn't work for you. Cheers, Supriti

How do I activate?

Step 1 Land in one of the countries listed

Step 2 Insert SIM card

Step 3 Turn on 'Data Roaming' in your mobile/network settings.

Step 4 Restart your device

You should connect within 5 minutes and you are all set. Happy travels!

What if I need help?

Our SIMs generally have no issues, however, nothing is a guarantee. Sometimes SIMs have technical issues that need troubleshooting.


If you land and your SIM does not work as expected then you need to follow these steps:


Step 1. Ensure you have followed all steps in your SIMs digital PDF guide.


Step 2. Reach out to us for support via Facebook live chat or email us at hello@simsdirect.com.au. We are active between 10am - 6pm AEDT.


Step 3. If our technical support cannot resolve your issue you will be entitled to our Money Back Guarantee and we will help you find a local option for the rest of your trip.

 

 

How can I make calls & texts?

This SIM does not come with calls or texts. However, you can use your data to make calls and texts.


We highly recommend using data applications as a smart alternative.


If you are wanting to call internationally:


We recommend using Skype. You can purchase credit and use it to make international calls to any number in the world at very affordable rates that are much cheaper than international call rates. $10 will get you roughly 250 minutes worth of international calls.


It's just like using your mobile but it uses internet data to make the call. Very handy! Works for landlines and mobile numbers.


If you are wanting to call and text mobile numbers internationally for free.


We recommend using any of the following free apps.


Whatsapp

Facebook Messenger

Google Hangouts

Viber

Skype


All of these apps are handy to use while travelling.

How do I check my balance?

You can keep track of your usage by registering a ‘My3’ account with ThreeUK.

No recharges?

This SIM can only be recharged in the UK or with a UK credit card.


If you need more data or a longer duration you will need to purchase multiple SIM cards and swap them out as you go.

How do I find my new number?

Your new UK mobile number is printed on the back of the SIM packaging.

Is this enough data for me?

12GB of data over 30 days is HEAPS of data.
