How do I activate?


Step 1. Land in USA, Canada & Mexico

Step 2. Insert SIM card

Step 3. Turn on ‘Data Roaming’ in your mobile/network settings

Step 4. Restart your device

Step 5. You will connect automatically within 5 minutes and your 15 days begins!




What if I need help?


These SIMs have a high success rate with connecting immediately. However, there is always the possibility of technical issues.

If you land and you are having issues getting connected to the internet. You can follow these steps.

Step 1. Ensure you have followed all activation steps and restarted your mobile device. It can sometimes take up to 2 hours to activate on rare occasions.

Step 2. Check your devices internet settings


  • Android -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
  • Create APN -> Name = AIS Internet -> APN = internet
  • Ensure  data roaming (all networks) is turned on


  • iPhone -> Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Mobile Data Network
  • Under column Mobile Data & Personal Hotspot = AIS Internet
  • Ensure data roaming is turned on


Step 3. Restart your device again, sometimes you may need to do this a few times for the SIM to pick up the network.

Step 4. If none of the above works it's time to reach out to SimsDirect for help.

How do I make international calls?


This SIM does not come with international calls.

We highly recommend using data applications as a smart alternative. This may be confusing at first but is definitely the most cost-effective way to travel connected as you are avoiding expensive international call rates.

If you are wanting to call internationally:

We recommend using Skype or Viber Out. You can purchase credit and use it to make international calls to any number in the world at very affordable rates that are much cheaper than international call rates. $10 will get you roughly 250 minutes worth of international calls. 

It's just like using your mobile but it uses internet data to make the call. Very handy! Works for landlines and mobile numbers.

All of these apps are handy to use while traveling. However, you will need to have your friends and family saved as contacts. It is good to add contacts on these apps before you fly.


How do I check my balance?


Dial *111*6#

Alternatively you can do the following:


Go to your settings> Data Usage, this will show the overall data used at the top of your screen.

To check data usage for a certain period, tap “Data Usage Cycle” and select the period from the day you started using the SIM to the current day.

Tap “Ok” The changes will then be displayed.


Go to your settings > Mobile Data (Some iOS devices may say “Cellular Data Instead”)

You will be able to see how much data you’ve used overseas under the ‘Current period roaming’



How do I top-up and recharge?


This SIM is pre-loaded and does not come with any way to recharge or top-up.

If you think you will need more than 4GB of data then you can reach out to us and ask for a 'Double Pack' discount for your order to purchase multiple SIM cards for your trip.



How do I find my mobile number?


This SIM does not have voice enabled, so someone won't be able to call you directly.

You will need to use data apps like Skype/WhatsApp/Messenger to keep in contact with friends/family
